These photo reveal what appears to a be a high speed crash, where the 1 of 7 megacar lost control at the Adenauer Forst section, before hitting the guardrail. The impact was so heavy that the hypercar eventually caught fire, which was contained immediately. The driver walked away unharmed, despite the magnitude of the crash. The incident took place today in the afternoon. As it turns out, they were testing various setups for upcoming cars as part of their developmental process.
In a statement released by Koenigsegg, the Swedish car maker has confirmed that the wrecked car will be rebuilt.
The car in question is chassis #107 which was indeed the second One:1 to be made and later showed at Goodwood in 2014. It was also the first One:1 to be privately registered (German customer) and features clear coated carbon fiber and gold stripes while the interior is themed in black.
Revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Koenigsegg One:1 was limited to just seven units, six customer cars and one developmental unit which has since been sold to a customer too. It was the world’s first megacar, with One:1 reflecting 1 hp per 1 kg of weight. That said, the One:1 produces 1,361 PS and 1,371 Nm of torque from its 5.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8.
The One:1 can reach a theoretical speed of 280 mph or 451 km/h, with a 0-100 km/h time of 2.8s, and 0-300 km/h in a blistering 11.9s.
